O registro foi feito por um fot\u00f3grafo da Prefeitura da capital mineira e mostra os 11 filhotes deitados na costa do jacar\u00e9 adulto. Em nota, a prefeitura de Belo Horizonte informou que segue monitorando os jacar\u00e9s que vivem na lagoa e que, at\u00e9 o momento, foram identificados 20 adultos e 11 filhotes da esp\u00e9cie no local. Entretanto, a administra\u00e7\u00e3o afirmou que a reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o do animal \u00e9 lenta e que os jacar\u00e9s n\u00e3o promovem ataques volunt\u00e1rios contra humanos. ???Trata-se de uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o que cresce lentamente devido \u00e0 baixa taxa de reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o e ao fato de estas esp\u00e9cies, quando filhotes, serem uma presa f\u00e1cil para aves de grande porte.
