A Conmebol visa projetos com ECA e a UEFA. Esse formato vigorou at\u00e9 1979, j\u00e1 que no ano seguinte a montadora Toyota passou a patrocinar o evento, que passou a ser realizada em jogo \u00fanico no Jap\u00e3o.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A \u00faltima edi\u00e7\u00e3o da Copa Intercontinental foi em 2004, com o Porto como campe\u00e3o, sendo que em 2005 foi instaurado de maneira definitiva o Mundial de Clubes da FIFA.
